4 Quick Tips for Staying Focused in the Middle of Achieving Your Goals

In the beginning, when you set out to tackle your goals there are people who are cheering for you. By the time you reach the finish line, you’re actually cheering on yourself!

But what about the MIDDLE?

This is where things can get messy and confusing. Am I right?

You look around and you suddenly can't find your cheering squad. Then, you look ahead. But, you just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The only thing you have is the MIDDLE and this is a terrifying place to be.

If you're like most of us on the journey to crushing our goals, you'll start to wonder about a couple of things. What are you're doing in the MIDDLE? And how do you get to the finish line from here?

Sound familiar?

Well, I totally hear you! One thing I've learned is this:

SUCCESS LIES IN THE MIDDLE

That's why it's so important to have a strategy in place before you go after your goals. You'll also want accountability to get you through the middle as quickly as possible.

If you want, you can use my 4-step strategy. I use this over and over again and it really works:

TIP #1 - WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS

Write down your goals and keep them in a location where you can alway see them.

TIP #2 - WRITE DOWN YOUR REASON FOR YOUR GOALS

Next to each goal, write the reason why you want to achieve it. This will remind you why you're dedicating your time to the goal and will help you to stay focused when distractions arise.

TIP #3 - CREATE A PLAN FOR ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS

The plan you create for achieving your goals should be SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-based action steps.

TIP #4 - DON'T WAIT TO REWARD YOURSELF

Reward yourself in the MIDDLE when you reach a major milestone or development in your goals. Don't just reward yourself once you've completed the project.
